  • Legal obligation – we have to collect or use your information so we can comply with the law. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to erasure, the right to object and the right to data portability.

    • For compliance with controlled drug legislation.

    • To keep clinical notes to comply with the "Code of Professional Conduct for Veterinary Surgeons" as outlined by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).

  • To comply with RCVS requirements which state "Veterinary surgeons must respond promptly, fully and courteously to clients’ complaints and criticism."

In line with controlled drugs legislation, records are stored for 5 years.
